Autumn Term
Tomorrow’s Entrepreneurs
A
challenging competition where a team of ten pupils compete against various
schools in south Wales
to design a profitable local business.
Spring Term
Military Challenge
An
army style competition involving both physical and mental challenges. A
team of ten pupils (five boys and five girls) compete at county level, with
the winners then competing against schools in southwest Wales.
Mock Interviews
An
opportunity for year 10 to improve their interview technique and chances of
getting the job they want in the future. Pupils will receive a presentation
on the process of applying for jobs, fill in a mock application form,
attend a mock interview with a local employer and receive feedback on their
performance.
Army Careers Day
This
visit involves an opportunity to explore the role of the Army and their
various career opportunities. The event includes many fun, hands-on
activities and competitions.
Positively Mad Revision Day
An
interactive revision session that teaches special techniques to aid GCSE
revision. The session is organised by Positively Mad a company that
specialises in mind mapping.
Work Experience
All pupils will
have the opportunity to spend a week working with a local employer. This
will provide an interesting and challenging experience of work and the
working world.
Enterprise Day
An
interactive enterprise experience that involves exploring the concepts and
skills required to set up your own business in the future. Pupils will work
in small teams to design and run their own imaginary business, competing
against other pupils.
