Library Resources

Our computerised library is home to over 4,000 fiction and non-fiction books – ideal for leisure and satisfying a thirst for knowledge! We also have a range of subject related magazines, and Internet access supported by a mass of useful web addresses to help pupils track down what they need. A mass of practical careers information completes this valuable resource centre.

You can enjoy good access to the library, it’s there for you to use, so... you should use it! You’ll learn more and produce better work if you use the resources that are available to you. All pupils can use the library at lunch time and after school until 4.10pm.  Pupils use the library on a rota basis at lunchtimes.

If it will help with your lesson your teacher will bring your class to the library to work and, if you’re in Year 7, 8 or 9 you will make good use of the library during English lessons. You can also have some fun participating in reading activities such as “World Book Day”, “Reading Week” and the school’s own “Scholastic Book Club”.  We have a scrabble team, chess and draught boards, playing cards, a Nintendo Wii and Sky TV with a large wide screen, which can be used at lesson time also.

Mrs Folland, our librarian, will help you feel comfortable in the library and help you make best use of it, by showing you how to use the library catalogues and index systems.
