Newsletter February 2008

It’s that time of year again, the exams will soon be upon us and I recommend to all parents and guardians of year 11 that they nag their children to revise for their examinations. All will have had their timetables for the examinations by now. At least one and a half hours per night should be set aside for revision.

The school has been chosen to display Art work at the Welsh Assembly and this is a great honour. The girl’s football team represented Swansea in the football league cup having beaten the regional competition. They travelled to Southampton and lost out, despite an impressive display, on appearing at Wembley in the final.

I would like to request parental and guardian support in maintaining the standards of the school, in particular linked to school uniform and appearance. The code of dress for the school clearly states that hair colour be natural and styles not outrageous in nature. The details appear in every child’s homework diary. They also form part of the home school agreement signed in year 7. Please support us on this as we endeavour to be consistent in applying school rules.

Thank you for co-operating with us in attendance issues, the school average is improving and by working together we can ensure that we know that our children are safe throughout school hours.

We hope to produce a pictorial history of the school and this will include pictures of pupil’s past and present. This will form part of our fiftieth anniversary celebrations and will be on sale at the school. Amongst the important dates that follow this bulletin is the Hog roast for past pupils at Margam Park. We hope that all past pupils,  parents and guardians will make an effort to attend.

Below is important information for you all
